Paper Crowns Gig Review: Release Party for Long Awaited Debut 'Clean'

On the 17th of January 2025, Paper Crowns released their long-awaited debut single ‘Clean’. The single showcases their complex and intricate songwriting; tumultuous melodies that circumnavigate one another to encase the rage and hostility felt by relationship shortcomings.

Opening act Zalizo were atmospheric and edgy. Despite epic builds and components colliding with one another, their set still felt consistently intimate and moving.

Up next were Bible Club. Although a last-minute substitute for Brighton-based Ideal Living, they demanded the crowd with their cascading, dynamic, and fulfilling set.

At last, Paper Crowns stepped up onto the stage. The crowd stirred as they were set up for a mesmerising and impactful performance. They, of course, performed their new single ‘Clean’ alongside other favourites such as ‘Today’s the Day’ and ‘Bedframe’.
